After reading the blog on here about the 'Food map' diet. I have been reading about fructose as fruits high in fructose act like a laxative on me. I was also very suprised about the effects of high fructose corn syrup. In that it is only metabolised by the liver and the liver turns it into fat and this fat tends to surround our vital organs, so on one level it is as fattening as fat. It also produces uric acid which is the cause of Gout and gout has risen sharply recently.

HFCS are used extensively in proceseed foods and is very cheap to produce compared to sugar and is sweeter yet the soft drinks industry use the same amount they just add more salt to negate the sweetness of the drink and to make us thirsty. Have a look at this from you tube it made me think!

It's titled 'Sugar the bitter truth'

This is what Wikipedia says about Fructose:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fructose

Here's an excert from the section on digestive problems:

For people with celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, or other fructose absorption issues, fructose malabsorption may be a major health concern

I think that coeliac have the opportunity to a very healthy diet and maybe our weakness is our strength.
