Coeliac disease and eosinophilic oesophagitis?

Anyone else have both? My 10 year old has been diagnosed with both conditions. I am really hoping that the GF diet resolves the oesophagitis but I've been told this in unlikely. Anyone have experience of both conditions resolving when going GF?

I hope that you find the trigger for the EE and it could well be gluten. I'd ask the specialist who diagnosed your young one about allergy testing if the gf diet doesn't do the trick. And I'm sure this will come up again so please let us know how you get on. And good luck.

Thanks! The plan is to wait and get his coeliac under control then look at allergy testing to figure out the oesophagitis. Consultant doesn't expect anything to change with the GF diet, but I'm hopeful

There's a few questions on celiac.com about this by coeliac with both and I checked the archives on GFG and could find no other coeliac with both.

I have been reading about how children these days have more allergies than in the past. There are a few posts on GFG about reflux which might interest in you as there may be some tips on minimising symptoms.

I was also fascinated by the reply on c.com about eating local honey to build up an immunity to local allergens? Whether this works or not I have no idea. But it sounds good LOL.
