I have only lost a couple of kilograms but I am shrinking! Had to wear smart yesterday and found my blazer was at least 2 dress sizes too big! It is a tent in me :D Having been a size 14 I am now a size 10 and can fit in size 8 clothes

I'm the same Suzanne. I was diagnosed about 18 months ago and have lost just under 2 stone! It was quite a shock really, as I thought being on the gluten free diet and being able to finally absorb what I need from food that I might have gained weight. Ah well, I'm not complaining!

I initially put on weight up to 9 stone, then lost it again - down to 7st5, now back up to 9 stone again. Once I'd lost too much weight I found it really difficult to put it back on following a GF diet...

I put on a stone very quickly after being diagnosed for two reasons I think. Firstly, I wanted to try everything that I could eat safely. Secondly I thought I could build up my calcium levels by eating more. Unfortunately I ended up with high blood pressure. I have lost that stone but am still classified as overweight according to the body mass index chart. I feel miles better without the flab, and play hockey better. Unfortunately it seems only too easy to start putting on weight again.

I ballooned from a size 12 to size 16 and that with tiredness and recurrent infections made me see my GP and led to a Coeliac diagnosis. So I was pleased when I went GF that my old size 12 outfits and suits fitted me. Sadly I found that after a year GF I went to a size 14 which is ok as I'm not short. Yet I put on half a stone in 6mths last year and am now back to a size 16 / 18 (! yes in Topshop, H&M). So I feel like a whale. Although generally my mates say I look like a size 14 what I find irritating is my stomach bloats more than it ever did before. So some days I'm a 14 others closer to 18 which pisses me off no end. I'm being tested for gyny problems as well now so maybe I'll get to the cause as I don't eat the 'Free From' food in the supermarkets, limit my GF bread and generally cook from scratch. I do admit a weakness for wine and Cadbury's choc buttons. Like Phil I think I ate more of those than I would normally & I did try a variety of products in the early days. I'm not convinced that our stomachs healing suddenly makes us all put on weight as so many of us seem to stabalise/ loose it. Anyone else have problems? Or have found solutions (aside from exercise more, cut out alcohol etc ; )?

I lost a lot of weight, about 3 stones (despite being totally unable to exercise), when I was ill before I figured out the problem was Coeliac ( have now been diagnosed ). It's pretty much stayed still since going fully GF 3 months ago, but over the last week I'm seeing signs of some weight gain.

I do go a bit mad for some of the new FreeFrom options in the supermarkets, particular Asda ginger cookies, so I think it may down to that :)
