I am in the process of finding out the cause for my viceral lower abdominal pain. I know I am intolerant to gluten and was tested twice both negative results. My GP suggested not re testing as I am quite poorly.
I have darkish patches on my teeth ( teeth that don' t need fillings) and I understand that this can be a symptom of Coeliac. Does anyone else have these?

Yes, one of the results of a malabsorption syndrome like coeliac disease can be dental enamel affects.
Could quite possibly be to do with malnutrition from malabsorption. The fat soluble vitamins are needed for dental health especially Vitamin d (sunshine or supplement) and k2 are important. K2 in grass fed butter and cheeses and fermented foods. Calcium gets deposited where it’s meant to in bones and teeth with k2.
Hope you can find the path to recovery.
Have you heard of Weston A Price? He was a dentist in the 30s and wrote “nutrition and physical degeneration”. He discovered activator x, later vitamin k2. The Weston A Price Foundation online has good nutrition info based on traditional diets. A good book is “nourishing traditions” by Sally Fallon.
Thank you so much! I had never even heard that coeliac and other related conditions, could cause teeth and bone problems. I have been taking prescription vit D for years as I hardly leave the house, then I had a blood test which showed vit d and other deficiencies...
I am still very much on the nursery slopes with this, but I have at lost got the date for abdominal scanning.
Glad you got a scan date. Hope you can get some answers.
Hopefully you’re on the right path re gluten. I like the skiing analogy and agree best to start on the nursery slope and then progress onward with the stability and strength to stay up no matter how slippery the slope can get!
Diet and food can play such a massive role as it’s one of our biggest environmental exposures to the immune system as well as nourishment. The saying you are what you eat should be you are what you can absorb and assimilate.
