Hi - 50 and shocked! Waiting for an endoscopy. Type 1 diabetic, epileptic and have thyroid disease. This is a whole new ball game. Onward and upward and looking forward to feeling better 😊

I’m new too and bewildered
A full house of autoimmune disease!
I hope your endoscopy is quite quick.
I know coeliac can make managing low blood sugar that little bit tougher (because you need to find gluten free sugar fixes), so please make sure you start researching what's out there now.
Hi there, I found eating gluten free a sharp learning curve but 3 years from diagnosis, get it right most of the time now. The aggravation of eating gluten free is more than offset by feeling so much better. Good luck and keep us updated. 😊
is your thyroid optimally treated ? Do you have Hashimotos ?
Hi. Mine is under active so I have 150mg of thyroxine a day.
Do you have Hashimotos - auto-immune thyroiditis ? Do you have any results you can share ? Low Thyroid can trash the uptake of vital nutrients so do you know your levels of TSH - FT4 - FT3 and the Thyroid Anti-bodies TPO & Tg ?? Also important to test B12 - Folate - Ferritin and VitD.
You may think these things are not connected but as we know the body is a wonderful machine and the Thyroid needs to be performing well for it to run smoothly ...
The most important thyroid hormone is the T3 - so the T4 you are taking is a storage hormone doing very little in the body - so it is important the building blocks of health are in place so the conversion of T4 into the ACTIVE T3 can take place. Every one of the trillions and trillions have a receptor for T3 - so its very important
My b12 was checked because I have neuropathy or nerve pain but it might be my diabetes. I’m on permanent Vitamin D ( 1600 iu daily ) because my epilepsy meds block the uptake of it. I’ve been put on calcium because they’ve discovered I now have a low bone profile too. I’m seeing the go next week and will ask for more blood tests as so many autoimmune things are being messed up. Thanks for your advice. Am 50 but feel a lot older 😬
I appreciate your issues. If you click onto my username above you can read my journey - only takes a few minutes ! I am almost 73 and have battled many medical issues whilst holding down demanding careers and looking after a family.
Your VitD sounds a low dose - what was your last result ? Your treatment should be according to your result. I live in Crete and am currently on a maintenance dose of 2500 IU's to maintain levels ... Are you taking the important co-factors with your VitD ? Magnesium and VitK2-MK7 ?
When taking VitD the uptake of calcium from foods is improved so no need to take extra. Calcium can be a problem if too high - were you tested ? There is more than calcium to bones - in fact calcium is only involved in the breaking down of OLD bone cells - osteoclasts. For good levels of cells to build new bone cells you need to look at Boron - Magnesium and other nutrients. Check out Dr Sarah Myhill's website and read up on hereinformation. It's like having a Doc in the room
So when your B12 was checked - what was the result - and are you supplementing ?
Do you have any thyroid results to share ? - it could be your levels are not optimal and that could be contributing to your many issues ...

Thank you. I was told I should have been on calcium with my vitamin D all along? It’s all very confusing. I’m aware of the vitamin B12 thing and have started on that as well as magnesium to cope with cramp. I have been taking Alpha Lipoic Acid for neuropathy pain but it’s stopped working. Really need someone with an overview! Off to read about your journey now...
