I am 69 year old woman who was diagnosed some 16 years ago with Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) it is an autoimmune condition which affects the liver. It was formerly known as Primary Biliary Cirrhosis - I do not drink alcohol.
I have also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (at Bath Rheumatics hospital) and Sjorgens Syndrome. I experience regular pain in my joints & muscles
I am not overweight (49 kgs) and 5' 1" tall, but I suffer with a massive bloated belly most of the time. I do suffer from constipation sometimes going for 5 or 6 days without "producing". I have a good general diet, with low meat usage, eat plenty of fruit, vegetables and salad. I exercise by walking and a weekly Pilates class.
Any constructive thoughts??

Have you been tested for Coeliac disease? It is another autoimmune disorder frequently associated with BPC. Symptoms can include bloating and constipation. Have you talked to your doctor about your constipation? You need to find something to help. Something like a fibre supplement may be necessary, even though you are eating veg and fruit.
Perhaps have a look at the FOODMAPs food groups, as they can also cause the symptoms you mention.
I wish I had a solution because I am going through the same issue. A lot of exercise, irregular bowels and bloated stomach. Even medication has not helped. Sorry
Hello i was diagnosed with PCB 4 years ago and Coeliac Disease (another autoimmune) 2 years ago. Worth asking for coeliac screening as gluten can cause mayhem if you are coeliac. Let us know how you get on ☺☺
I was diagnosed originally with Hashimotos thyroidosis autoimmune and more recently gluten sensitivity and dairy sensitivity, and now diagnosed with PBC, i Started Candida diet for couple of weeks and now on leaky gut diet, no more swollen belly 😀 x
