Is your heartburn from too much or too low stomach acid? The symptoms are the same.

How do you react to orange juice?

Are you on antacids?

Have you had your B12 levels tested?

Hi thanks for your reply I don't know whether to much or not enough stomach acid I'm currently on b12 injections which have made no difference re sick feeling! I have to be very careful what I consume cos I've got leaky gut and bladder pain so orange juice is out the question I'm afraid. All I've read about antacids has put me of trying them have you had any similar experience?

Have you tried peppermint tea ? Also ginger is meant to be soothing for the stomach. Another remedy I always have to hand is charcoal tablets.

Like you, I am very sensitive and have to be careful with everything and avoid medication because of the side-effects.

For me the B12 stimulates (repairs) the vagus nerve to the stomach which can make me very hungry. I've heard some people get nauseous for a similar reason.

OJ settles my stomach.

No antacids for me.

Have you also asked on the pernicious anemia forum?

I've gone through several UTI infections that were of indeterminate cause. My GI consultant said for me to drink OJ daily to increase the acidity in my urine which cleans out the calcium deposits in the bladder and urethra where the bacteria like to set up shop.

I went through the whole battery of tests before this simple preventative measure eliminated my bladder issues. I can occasionally notice problems start back up when my B12 is low.

Try ginger tea or sliced peeled ginger root in hot water. Best to avoid peppermint as it can increase the chance of reflux.

Thanks for your replays I'm going to try some ginger tea today and I'm pleased to hear it may be because b12 is making some repair in my gut. 💓
