Coeliac disease and Lupus

Hi does anyone here suffer from coeliac and lupus. How do you manage the two together? I was diagnosed with lupus since 2001 and coeliac disease 2 years ago. Any info will be helpful. Take care

Yes me!!! 😃 I've been a lupie for nearly 7 years & coeliac for 4. Fatigue is my worst symptom but it's generally under control. I had a flare 4 wks ago which floored me for a couple of weeks but M good to go again. I don't really think about coeliac- I just eat gf. I've put on weight after diagnosis & with dodgy joints & fatigue am finding it a struggle to loose much. Some weeks/months I forget I have these auto immune diseases then get annoyed with I get fatigued!!

My fatigue did improve once diagnosed coeliac slightly, am in better health (weight aside) than I was 4 years ago!

Thanks Alison for the info. Just like me I struggle with fatigue most of the time! I get carried away st times and too too much then realise that I broke myself lol....literary! Then try to rest but as you say with time we learn to manage the diseases.anyway keep on keeping on!

Hi,just found out about this site when I had a lupus appointment last week .just want to say I am a coeliac and lupus sufferer too. As too how I manage it,nothing special gluten free diet and different pain meds and lupus meds.was diagnosed with coeliac disease 7 years ago and lupus 3 years ago. Those meds play havoc with my stomach but what can you do? Try to balance as best I can with random painful itchy irritating symptoms.
