My son is sooooo upset, he has received 2 Easter Eggs and can't eat them one with Twix and one Malteser he said he will swap them for other choc he can eat, this Easter is gonna cost me more than I thought !

Poor chap, I do feel for him.

Food is such a social thing and being different from your peers can be very hard, specially on big occasions.

Poor you! One hopes that the people who gifted him the Easter eggs are people who don't know your son and your family very well. If they are well known to you, I think you would be well within your rights to make them aware of the upsetting consequences of their actions...!

Hi there, I thought poor little chap but he has got the right idea by saying he will swap for gf chocolate, so he's got it sussed and good for him but mums got to pick up the tab...just for a change LOL.

In Bristol the mayor organised an Easter egg appeal for disadvantaged children:

I was impressed as there were a few eggs in the trolley when I put one in but later in the week the trolley was nearly over flowing. I only went back because they were selling organic honey on offer.

So if you have a food bank near you maybe you could take your son so he could donate these 2 eggs, it might be late for Easter but they would still be appreciated and would help your son to realise how lucky he is in other respects.

Argh! So annoying eh? It's the let down (deflated when realise can't eat it) feeling rather than joy which sucks I think.

My mum got given a big box fererro chocolates for her bday from a friend who knows she can't eat gluten (but obviously either forgot or didn't realise that it extends to chocolates or something). It is kinda disappointing. Then there's the awkwardness of pointing out you can't eat them, but thanks anyway - otherwise will they continue giving things like that... So difficult! My dad is happily eating them for her.
