Directory of safe places to eat out?

So much information out there on the internet, can anyone tell me if there is a directory or listing of safe places to eat out with food allergies, especially children friendly? Hotels, pubs, cafes etc thanks.

Hi taylorjtc,

If it's gluten-free you're after, then Coeliac UK is probably your best bet. They have a directory of sorts although I've never used it.

Hi there, I'd try the coeliac map: coeliacmap.com

the other thing I'd do is google gluten free and the town you want to eat out and see what comes up.

There's this one, though I can't say I've used it much: gluugle.com

I have found this hard work, when going to a new place, a lengthy search on my phone, a trip to the safe option of Pizza Express or the like, or an m&s gluten free sandwich have been the somewhat limited options.

So, on seeing this post I decided to be proactive and request trip advisor to do something:

Comments: Would really like to be able to search for restaurants, pubs and hotels offering gluten free meals and beer.

Please let me know if this is possible, or else consider it for future development. There are no decent sites that I have found that offer this, any I have searched on don't have the places in my area that I already know about.

If you could add a gluten free search field onto your cuisine list I would be most happy.

Please if you know a good site share on here, and also pester trip advisor to cater for coeliac and other dietary needs.

coeliac have a sort of directory, I live in west London and find Kew Gardens Restaurants usually ok, they seem to know which dishes are ok. Also Carluccios have gluten free menu and will cook gluten free pasta for you (20 min longer) Cafe Rouge used to be good , deteriorated and few thing available , ASK are good, Its a case of asking and walking out if they haven't, the only thing that gets results is when their PROFITS are at threat
