I've recently been prescribed Brinzolamide which so far is ok. My problem is the bottle!!I'm struggling to administer the drops because I have arthritis in my hands and it is such a fiddly small bottle with the pump action.
Has anyone got any tips about how to overcome this?
My Monopost is individual vials and so much easier.
Thanks..

If you go on to the RNIB website, they give for free, little gadgets, to help people who are struggle, with administering their eyedrops, there are quite a few different varieties, depending on the shape of the bottle ect, they also offer other items for free too. Sharon x
my problem is my drops seem to run out of the bottle too quickly ..Or the drops are too big..I use far more than i should they dont last the month at all.
I used the and I also find it difficult to open especially the seal when I start a new bottle, I am also going to have a look at RNIB website, best wishes
I am on the same drops, but in a little bottle. When I told the consultant I have difficulty using the bottle he offered me the pump bottle. He gave it me to try, but I found it harder.
The people who manufacture the bottles for eye drops don’t realise that the majority of people using eye drops are more than likely to be older with conditions such as Arthritis.
Yes, it's the pump bottle that I have. I'm hoping it will last the month as I sometimes have to squeeze the bottle and too many drops come out.My Monopost is so much easier in the individual vials and also preservative free, which is better.
I'm also feeling as if I have a chest infection today. Just hoping it isn't because of the Brinzolomide.
OK folks , here is my totally unofficial and unapproved advice.
To facilitate the removal of the lid for the first time, place the bottle on its side, put a sharp knife on the junction between cap and securing rim and roll the bottle with the knife, under a little pressure, which will cut through the several connections between the two. The cap can now be unscrewed.
I have never found it easy to use the instructed pressure on the bottle base to be easy; the size of a drp is surely determined by the size of the hole, so if squeezing the bottle is easier the emission will be the same[. If you can't control your squeeze to avoid an unwanted squirt you will have to persevere with pressing the base, but I don't find this a problem.
