Hi

I am looking at getting a 2nd opinion privately to see what stage my glaucoma is at and also if I am having/ had the correct treatment

I have looked at Moorfields Hospital in London and wondered if this is the best hospital or has anyone got any recommendations/advice

thank you

I think it has very high reviews .. I took my dad using NHS there at city road but they have clinics everywhere now .. the treatment and care were outstanding ..

Definitely recommend- there is a list of consultants on their website so you can choose a glaucoma specialist.

which part of the country do you live ? As can thoroughly recommend my Consultant in the Portsmouth area. However if you are nearer to Moorfields sounds like very good treatment . Good luck .

I’m in Portsmouth and thinking about a second opinion, main problems are glaucoma & cataracts. Who is the consultant you recommend please?

Sorry to hear that . Mr James Kirwan at Queen Alexander Hospital & Spire Hospital Havant . I am seeing him privately had my eye op at QA. But see him for consultations at the Spire. He did my trabulectomy operation successfully & about to have 2nd op. He has done lots of research into glaucoma and the type of operation I had. Good luck .

Hello Bazzer65, Whereabouts are you? If you are in the Midlands, I would definitely recommend my chap, who is based in the Birmingham area. Just ask if you’d like more details, etc.

Hi. I went to Moorfields Eye Hospital for a 2nd opinion many years ago and have stayed under their care to present day. I do not live local to the hospital but happy to travel as the care you receive is excellent.
