I am on a path trying to learn as much as I can about Glaucoma. I haven't had a definitive diagnosis as yet, and am having an OCT scan quite soon. I suspect I do have Glaucoma. I am not keen on the treatments, having watched my old dad put drops in his eyes for years, and his eyes always looking sore and irritated. I know things have moved on since then circa2000. However, I believe nature has answers.
Anybody tried Dr Eric Berg's protocol with large doses of Vitamin D?

Hi there. You are definitely correct that things have moved on. There are many effective treatment options for glaucoma, but these are eye drops, laser treatment and surgeries. There is no 'natural' or 'alternative' treatment for glaucoma. While supplementation of Vitamin D might be necessary for us in the UK, high doses have not been proven to treat glaucoma. There are so many glaucoma eye drops now that most people can find one (or more) that work for them and do not give them any side effects. If they are prescribed for you then these will be key in controlling your glaucoma.
Hi Margo, I did not want to take chemical drops either, so I opted for LST laser surgery which successfully lowered my eye pressure. I now take vitamin B1 and vitamin D supplements to support my eye health. So far everything is stable.
Dr Berg's opinions (on all subjects) are well worth listening to. Big pharma don't like him for obvious reasons.
Personally I believe you should research and listen to ALL the advice available from multiple sources (opticians, your consultant, nutritionists, GP etc etc) in order that YOU can decide what treatment is most appropriate for your personal circumstances.
