is it known how much this works out per person tested? How many organisations tendered.? It is interesting that I understand a member of staff for specsavers works at the DVLA so there is a good point of contact with the DVLA . This certainly helped sort out a problem with my test within minutes on the same day!

I note that the tender document states the visual acuity and field test should be done by qualified and trained opticians. This is certainly not the case at Specsavers. This is definitely one of the areas where the service fails as well as the noisy environment where the tests are carried out. I would welcome a return to the days when the test could be done by your own optician in familiar surroundings.
