Glocoma check now in 12 months time.

Hi everyone for the last 2 years I hav been attending a clinic every 6 months for tests for suspected glaucoma. Now I received a letter say my next appointment is in 12 months time .does anyone think that maybe they think am not a suspected case anymore thanku.

Hi, would presume your condition is stable and doesn’t require as frequent monitoring.

Hello. The tests they do during your visit measure the thickness of the nerve that connects your eye to your brain. If they find it stable, then you are fine, even if your eye pressure readings are high.

If you have a thick cornea, over or around 600 micrometres, then the eye pressure results may not be accurate. All in all, it’s a good sign that they want to see you every year instead of every six months. Best of luck
