3/20Told DVLA
10/20 DVLA said I should have test but delayed because of Covid
10/21DVLA eye test
12/21 DVLA offered medical review licence
12/21 DVLA said as I can't meet standards I must not drive
12/21 Failed to speak to DVLA-no replies- re last two items
2/22 No licence forthcoming, so contacted MP
2/22 DVLA quickly wrote to me saying the offer of a medical review licence was a"system Error"
and the second letter was the correct one!
3/22 Appealed with independent visual field test to which the optometrist said I'd passed
6/22DVLA said I could reapply for a driving licence, which I did
7/22 Second DVLA eye test shortly after which a medical licence was issued for 1 year
4/23DVLA invited me to renew licence
5/23Third DVLA eye test
6/23DVLA said I'd failed and licence not renewed
6/23 Second appeal with new independent visual field test which I'd appear to have passed sent to DVLA
10/23 Fourth DVLA eye test-they gave me copies of the result on request-it looked as if I had passed
11/23 Driving licence for 3 years issued,I was staggered and very pleased
(What a business ,but well worth the effort. Hope my story will encourage readers to keep going with their appeal process).
