Hair growth..strange

I have noticed I have dark hair on my upper cheek bones..I'm guessing the eye drops have caused it. Any one else?

Hello! Yes I have a bit of dark hair growth on my cheeks as well as eyelash growth. Prostaglandins are a know cause..which drops do you take?

Some of them do stain...I have a mark just below my left eye and keep having to put cream on it and hope it will gradually rub off - now being more careful about dabbing the eyes when closed after drops inserted - and holding the corner of my eyes for a minute or so.

I wonder if a very light touch of vaseline around eyes preinsertion might help re staining. I currently use light touch on eyelids to keep them moist but wonder if light touch in other areas round eye might prevent staining?.....just a thought......applying v light touch wouldnt affect eyes I dont think.

Very good plan

Probably a good idea...I try and wipe it off straight away but have started to wet it to do so now - or it's becoming a permanent fixture!

Yes side effects of eye drops cause hair to grow there, I have very long eyelashes, lots of people remark on my eyelashes, saying they want to have long eyelashes too, I say know you don't because I have gluacoma and it is the drops that make my eyelashes long.

Yes I have great eye lashes but I wish I didn't have glucoma

Yes I wish that I did not have either

Ganfort does darken the lashes - and makes them longer...so that makes sense now.

And it's the plus side for most of us!

Hello there,I use latanoprost and my eye lashes have become lovely and dark, also thicker.I have noticed however that when I use a magnifying mirror to pluck my eyebrows ,there are dark hairs growing under my eyelashes at the outer corners of my eyes.I tried to pluck these but it was a bit painful so I just use my little facial hair trimmer to remove them being careful not to catch my eyelashes. It is a side effect of the eye drops.

I have as well!! Not very pleasant as on steroids too which makes one hairy! I instil Dorzolamide/Timolol twice daily and Bitamoprost (Lumigan) at nighttime. Also Dexa twice daily as I had Vitrectomy in May. I don’t know which one is the cause.

My beautician has been gently threading as near as she can that area which makes it look better! 🍀

I have used several drops over 10 years all different I started off with Latanprost, and ended up using Ganfort and two others Brinzolamide and Brimonodine and it is a side effect of all those, I think you will find that most eye drops do.
