Hello everyone,

The Helpline has been receiving calls and emails regarding problems obtaining Pilocarpine 2%

Callers have been told by their pharmacists that Pilocarpine 1% is still available.

Pilocarpine is licenced, so there are many different manufacturer who can produce it. Because of this, we are unable to check what the problem with production is.

The best thing to do is to call the eye secretary explaining the urgency. They can check with the consultant and get back to you with the consultants advice.

If you are unable to get in touch with the eye secretary, you can try the PALS department (Patient Advise Liaison Services) or the ECLO (Eye Clinic Liaison Officer). Most hospitals have both.
