I had Preserflo Microshunt operation on left eye in March, the reason was I’d previously had laser treatment, and numerous eye drops over the past 5 years, however I found these were ineffective and also I was having many problems like sore, red itchy eyes.
Therefore the Microshunt was a great saviour. The. Shunt is working fine and draining properly after some blockages have been cleared.
My ideal pressure is to be 9, and yesterday it has gone up to 23, which is a big concern.
I’m still on steroids for another two weeks.
Has this happened to anybody else?
I have an amazing Opthomologist, so there are no issues there.
Look forward to replies !!!!

I have had a similar glaucoma history and had two Preserflo implants.
The first was December 2020 and the second March 2021.
I was told by the surgeon that the pressures are unlikely to suddenly rise post op. Most of the time my pressures are between 8 and 14 and I have had few problems except for dry eyes.
What does your opthalmologist say about your pressure at the moment ?
It is well worth asking him to get peace of mind. There is often a duty opthalmic doctor on call covering 24 hours either on the eye ward or via A&E. They may be able to adjust medication or give advice.
So pleased to hear you have such a good health service in New Zealand. I have not seen an opthalmologist for 2 years as we have 'Virtual eye clinics'here where all the eye tests are done by nurses then sent on to the specialists later who decide if everything is O.K.
Most of my virtual clinics have been every 7 or 8 months but I do see an excellent specialist optometrist once or twice a year as well.
The eye clinics are the busiest out patient clinics in England and so they had to devise the virtual clinics to cope with the numbers.
Glad you are returning for a check up soon, I hope they manage to keep your pressures within the ideal range.
