DVLA revoked my licence September 2021 after field test with Specsavers showed too many missed points in centra; 20*. They didnt tell me how many.
I saw a consultant and took their test missed group iof 3+1.
Then another private test with Specsavers for £25, missed 3 + 1 but the +1 was diametrically oposed. Sent off both tests and DVLA said no .
Took another private test with Specsavers in February 2022, missed 1 in central 20*, sent off, took DVLA ages to respoind and then only after letter fom my MP in June. They issued a 1 year licence to 30/6/23.
Took recent private test at Specsavers, missed 2+1 in central 20*. Not sure of this is ok, as they say isolated scattered individual points in 20* discounted, and cluster of 3 ok but not if another isolated one.
Am reluctant to sent off this latest test without advice. ??????

An eye specialist said i was suspect glaucoma in my left eye and my field vision was similar therefore i should inform DVLA. I did my own research and found DVLA only want to know when you have glaucoma in both eyes. So i did nothing till my annual eye test this year and found my eyes had improved so i did a private field vision test and it was legal (in my view) in terms of the DVLA. I am going to take the test results to my next visit with the eye specialist. I have not informed the DVLA and not going to until i see the eye specialist again and ask her to rethink her statement regarding the original field test
Please do not be inform the DVLA until the consultant tells you to. You only need to do so ic you have glaucoma in both eyes.
Once you are on the DVLA system you will discover nothing but heartache . The Specsavers tests are not the same from branch to branch when they should be, and getting any form of positive response from the DVLA will take a long time. The system is broken and we who have glaucoma are suffering as a result.
My own experience took involvement by my MP to get a response after waiting several weeks.
I have glaucoma in my right eye, but suspect in my left eye, using drops in both. I was told to report to the DVLA by the specialist at the eye clinic, which I have done. I really hope I pass the test if I don’t, not only will I lose my license but also my business and income. These rules really should be applied correctly for us all due to the enormity of the impact.
Update from Tmrcflyer.... have just taken the test again and only missed one in the central 20*. So am sumbitting to DVLA. Over the last year and a half my field test results have improved, not deteriorated. Worth retesting if a "fail" from the DVLA, various situational circumstances can affect your results.
Read mine and others posts about the poorly organised tests at some Specsavers, I lost my licence for two months due to a failed test at one of them, and had to get the test done at two other branches, which were fine, and then struggle with DVLA inefficiencies to get my licence back. If you have trouble email glaucomaqueries@dvla.gov.uk straight away.
Having taken another private vft at Specsavers, the results were much better, only missing one point in the middle 20 degree arc. Sent off to DVLA with application for renewal of my licence ( before it runs out at end of June), they have written back requiring me to take another test at Specsavers, within the next 8 weeks. Why oh why, when the test I took as at their"approved " testers Specsavers. Couldnt get to speak with a medical professional today at DVLA. Person I spoke to deferred to their "business support team" who couldn.t/wouldn.t explain, just said I could make a formal complaint, which i have done, but dont wait till after expiry of 8 weeks in case they cancel my licence. Any ideas why I have been asked to go back to Specsavers anyone/
