So 3 weeks ago I had a laser iridotomy.Today I went to get my pressures checked 24 in both eyes.I have been prescribed monopost for life.So scared reading the side effects.Red eyelids affects the heart,Allergic reactions.
Good news though the laser iridotomy worked.Less risk of acute angle closure.

reading the side effects is scary but they have to put everything that could possibly happen so you take action if it does. However I, and many on here, have been taking these drops for many years without any problems. (I’ve had both iridotomy and SLT and still take the drops). The most common side effect seems to be darkening irises and longer, fluffy lashes (I’ve had neither). I hope that makes you feel a little better
try not to focus on side effects . I don’t have closed angle glaucoma ( I have open angle ) I’m glad ur lazer was successful . I’ve not used monoprost but many many other drops and the only side effects I had were longer darker lashes used them for like 7 years before having trab done and haven’t had anything drastic happen .
I'm the same as you I have Primary Angle Closure but no Glaucoma.I had pressures of 28 & 29 before l had iridotomy last August,I was put on Monopost drops once a day and when I went for my 4 week checkup pressures had come down to 22 & 24 which the consultant said was still too high so I am now on Fixapost once a day. I have an appointment next Tuesday to see how things are now.The consultant said I will need Lens replacement in the near future as that can reduce pressure quite a bit.So that maybe something for you to see into.
Hi Lizzyanne I'm exactly the same as you. However when I went for my check last week my pressures were 21/24 but angles wide open. I'm on Tiopex and Monopost and my consultant said she was happy with those pressures ! I also have wet AMD in one eye which I have injections in my right eye. These send The pressure up temporarily and that clinic seem more concerned about my eye pressures. They give me drops before my injection to keep the pressure down...Same hospital for both procedures. I continually worry about my sight.
