At the start of my journey my pressures were 28&29 ,when I went for my iridotomy after being on Pilocarpine for 2 weeks my pressures came down to 16&17 and they were the same after the iridotomy.I was put on steroid drops for 6 weeks and Monopost drops. When I went for a checkup 4 weeks later my pressures had gone up to 22&24 so my drops were changed to Fixapost ,this was last October I have an appointment next month to see if things have improved so don't worry I know that things can take quite a while to settle
The tablets will bring pressure down quickly, when you use eye drops don't forget to put your finger in the corner of your eye for 2 minutes that holds the drop on the surface of your eye.
you’ll be fine. Mine went up to 36 after SLT (a different but similar laser procedure). I had Iopidine drops at the clinic and only one days worth of Acetazolamide which is what you probably have. Pressures went down quickly and stayed down. I ask had iridotomy in both eyes and didn’t have any long term issues from that. Although it did t bring my pressures down it has opened my angles so I have no more risk of acute angle closure. Good luck
I had this treatment a while ago and didn't realize that pressures can spike immediately afterwards. I felt so unwell I couldn't even face putting my drops in, which of course made things worse!
I went back to the hospital where they explained that the spike was not unusual. I have since realized the value of asking as many questions as possible while speaking to my doctor, and try to plan what I am going to say/ask before I go into the consultation. I also takes notes as time passes so quickly, and it's difficult sometimes to remember everything that is said.
