Hello. I’m very recently diagnosed with open angle glaucoma in both eyes . Bit of a shock as I had no idea . Also no family history .
Found the forum and thought it would be useful as I educate myself and find useful tips as I start on this road .

Hi Tenorbell, I am similar to yourself just started on my journey. Read through the posts here, very informative. Wishing you the best
Welcome to the forum Tenorbell, it is a shock when you first receive your diagnosis but speaking to others in the same position definitely helps . Take care .
thanks for your kind words .
welcome to the forum.
It’s going to be a bit up and down as you get your head round the diagnosis and often treatment need review and tweaking and cause more stress for a while. But this is a good group to share with.
Advice from me is to make a list of questions to ask you consultant and write down the answers . Stick with the treatment plan strictly and check out video on here or you tube about the condition and about using eye drops effectively . And check if you also have dry eye as that’s caused me loads of problems but lucricating drops and heat pad for eye hygiene have helped also.
The below line for glaucoma uk is great.
this forum is excellent and informative 🇺🇦👍😎
Good morning from Thailand..... first and foremost adapt and accept what is diagnosed, already there is superb advice given to you, punctual occlusion.... putting eye drops correctly.....I look up when putting them.. closing eyes afterwards.. using tissue, gently pressing the tear ducts .....so no medication travels down into sinuses...... just live and enjoy life as normally as possible embracing what comes on the journey of life ahead.....
Hi, as people have said, the diagnosis can be a shock but this forum is very helpful and now you have been diagnosed you can be treated.
Just a heads up SLT is the NICE guidance initial recommended treatment for glaucoma now and it is best to be done before taking eye drops. Do ask about this when you next visit your ophthalmologist if they don’t mention it first.
Wishing you all the best 😊
