Has anyone else had this problem who can throw some positivity to me? It seems like my eye just doesnt want to settle down and recover! Its really getting to me and the thought of a possible 3rd op is hitting hard. I had very low pressure following the initial Trab so a complete bleb revision was done. I found that hard. All was well until yesterday. The pressure is ok but the bleb is leaking. I have to see the Consultant on Monday which gives me the whole weekend to stew on it. Trying to be brave but very wobwobbwobbily.
I have another Bleb leak 10 days after revisio... - Glaucoma UK
I have another Bleb leak 10 days after revision surgery!! Is this ever going to stabilise!!
How low was your pressure after the trab?
After my trab the pressure was 3. It has very gradually risen over the last 11 months to 8 and I didn't have revision surgery.
I had to have revision and 2 lots of needling after I had a presserflo shunt. Then I had a cataract op on the same eye. My eye was so sore for so long, nearly 2 years before it finally settled down. I know that my situation wasn't the same as yours, but I do know how hard it is to keep positive and believe that it will all come right in the end. Just wish you all the best and don't give up hope.
Thanks fir your reply. Sorry youve had a rough ride too. After my trab the pressure dropped to 2. They then revised the bleb and the pressure has been 10 since (11 days). But they found a diffuse leak on Thursday so I have an appointment with the consultant on Monday. I had a leak when the pressure dropped to 2 first time round so it appears to be happening again. Im finding it all very hard to handle. The eye feels sore, at times painful and vision is pretty bad. Its so hard trying to behave normal when you feel disabled.
I too had persistent bleb leaks after a trab operation and several revisions. It certainly isn’t easy to cope with poor vision and soreness for a prolonged period. The fact that your pressure is normal despite the leak sounds like a good sign to me. Sometimes after eye surgery you do have to be very patient unfortunately. I do hope the leak stops soon and that you don’t need anther operation. I have everything crossed for you!
hi Beaudidily, I am sorry to hear you having to go through so much problems. Only positivity I can throw is that I had presserflo surgery on Monday, couple of hours after surgery my eye started to hurt very badly, couldn't bear it, luckily I was still in hospital, consultant was called out, He put some drops and instantly I felt better. Touch wood since then I have not had any pain, just feel little bit grity Eye. My eye goes blurry for couple of minutes or so now and again but gets back to normal. I feel better than I was expecting to feel after surgery. But I am constantly worry that it might be too early to have any complications, I am really worried that worse is yet to come but hope not. I have had a check up appointment next day, my pressure was 3 then, my next appointment is on Wednesday the 1414th, Hope for the best.
I hope you get sorted, all the best.
Hi Amjan,
Just to say I felt the same after my shunt operation; the grit like feeling is due to scratches on the eye, but that will improve with time.
The recovery process is quite slow. I’m at 4 months now, still administering drops and having regular check ups but so far everything seems to be going well. I too was constantly worried something would go wrong, so give yourself the best chance of recovery by maintaining your regime of drops and taking things easy for a while, as the eye can be easily damaged when pressures are low. I also felt perfectly fine immediately after the op; sometimes you have to remind yourself you’re still recovering!
Take care and wishing you well. Good luck for your next appointment 🙂
Thank you Toby_from_London. That is re assuring, I today I felt so good that I almost forgot I have had a surgery and keep thinking it must be too good to be true, but you are right thanks for good advice to maintain my regime of drops and be positive. I am remember I am. still recovering. Thanks and all the best for your recovery.
So sorry to hear about your leak. I was sent home without a hard shield after a Schei's in 92, woke up with pressure too low to measure. After a few hours came up to 3. If your pressure goes very high can make the sclera thin (think used balloon). Make sure you wear a shield to give best protection for a few days after op, especially lying down. No bending or lifting, no head down, usual good sense precautions. Eye healed, but needed tube in 2006. Stable since, tho other eye (trab) sees better. Be careful and very patient. Good luck!
