Been doing some research about dietary things I can do to boost eye health and lower IOP and came across a paper that says creatine supplement might be useful. Anyone came across this or talk to a doctor about this?fiteyes.com/home/research/c...

I can't comment specifically on this. I'm not a big fan of supplements, partly because I have a tendancy to react badly to them, but also with a few exceptions I prefer a dietary approach where possible.

I can tell you that when I made significant changes to my diet (all detailed in my profile if you click through) my eye pressures came down 25-30%. I've found no studies to back up what I have experienced but I have come across anecdotal evidence of other people experiencing similar results. It is also believed that my diet (similar to keto) does also have neuroprotective properties so I am hoping I am giving my eyes the best chance possible in terms of reducing optic nerve damage.

The reduction was so remarkable, the first time my consultant thought I was cheating the pressure test as I have trabeculectomies and know how to 'massage' down my eye pressures temporarily.

I started taking CoQ10 for migraine prevention 8 months ago. First blood tests revealed my previously high liver function test had come down to the excellent range and then last month my IOPs (usually 18 and 19 even with drops) had gone down to 11 and 12.

Wow. That's a remarkable shift! I bet that was the best news you'd had in a while.

Hi, I read your earlier info about your diet success and I commend you. My question is please let me in on the secret how to massage my pressure lower temporarily, I have wondered about that myself. Thanks for any info, eyesong in Texas.

I wouldn't recommend it. It is only possible if you've had a trabeculectomy and quite uncomfortable to do. It would be best you have an ophthalmologist demonstrate it to you because there is the possibility of doing damage if you don't do it correctly. It involves putting pressure on the underside of the eyeball with the finger tip. Quite unpleasant.

Strange, I thought it would be squeezing the muscle of the eye brow etc like the ciliary muscle controling focus near and far. I read about a study done on that. Oh well, thanks anyway, eyesong in Texas.

Hi

I’ve read that Mirtogenol , available on Amazon, brings down eye pressure numbers in just a few months. Some excellent reviews there.

All the best.
