It's been nearly three weeks after Trab and my blurred vision is coming back frustratingly and worryingly slow. I have a double vision and difficult to read my phone however close it is.
Meanwhile, I had a check up and the doctor confirmed the op went well and the bleb is working fine and eye is healing well. He was concerned , however, the IOP at 5mm is too low for his liking. The target is 8 or 9. My original IOP fluctuated btw 11-19. I don't think he is alarmed yet, but I am beginning to worry if my vision is coming back or IOP stays too low.
Is having too low IOP common after a Trab and will it claw back a bit baturally? Is suddenly lowered IOP related to the blurred vision? My eye is recovering too slow for me.

I had a stent inserted around a month ago and my pressure was 5 immediately after the operation. It has now climbed to 9 and my vision is still blurry, but my understanding is that too low pressure is not uncommon and IOP will raise as the eye stabilises.
I agree it’s frustrating not being able to see properly but I’m sure things will improve with time🙂
Hi Charles after my last trab 6 months ago my pressure the following day was 2 and I literally could see nothing with that eye apart from blurred colours. My consultant wasn't concerned as he was sure as my eye began to heal my pressure would rise to an acceptable level. The following week it was 6 and everything was still very blurred. It wasn't until week 4 my pressure had reached 14 and I could actually see again and probably wasn't until about week 6 that my vision was back to normal.Low pressure is pretty common after a trab but all going well it will continue to rise to the desired pressure.
Healing slowly is what you want with a trab, as the first time I could see perfectly the next day and read to bottom of eye chart. My pressure was up at 30 due to a blood clot blocking the bleb. With that eye I continued to heal very quickly and my pressure was up in the 20s. This was remedied by ocular massaged and stabilised at 14 by week 4. So with a trab my consultant told me healing too quickly is not an advantage at all.
Just continue to follow all the advice given by the consultant, take your drops and with luck all will turn out well.
Recovery is between 6-8 weeks so it will take a while for your vision to improve. If the eye pressure stays low, your consultant will be able to remove stitches to adjust this.
thanks but if you remove a stitch , it will lower your IOP. If IOP stays too low, then another operation, isn't it? After the op my IOP was 31 and a week later, a stitch is off and now I have 5 IOP.
Yes you are right, removing a stitch will reduce the IOP, I do apologise. Hopefully the IOP will adjust itself and start to rise, but if not, they may need to do further surgery to help increase the IOP.
Hi, my trab was several years ago but I remember my pressure being very low I think around 2 , 3 months after the op but a couple of months later it had gone up and now stays between 6/8. So fingers crossed yours will stabilise in the next few weeks.
