I had a Preserflo shunt inserted in my right eye just before Christmas. How long will it be before one can be safely inserted in my left eye?

Good evening. Even though the recovery time is 1-2 weeks for a Presaflo, you will normally need to use anti inflammatory drops for 3 months after the surgery. I would imagine your consultant would not consider doing the Presaflo in your other eye until the operated eye is fully recovered. If you have any concerns or questions, always speak to your consultant about it.
Hello CheshireResident,
I had my first Preserflo early December 2020 and the second at the end of March 2021.
The second was so much easier, except it was the good eye, so I had to be extra careful for the first few days until it settled as I was afraid of tripping, luckily temporarily using a stick where necessary was a help. Both eyes seem to be behaving now and I have my next appointment in 6 months. I am sure, as Trish says it depends how you recover from the original surgery.
Best wishes
