Urgent request

Does anyone know what anti fungal I could buy and add to water tank which, alas, I need to use for bath, rinsing tooth brush etc.. as I do no have mains water. Contracted aspergillosis 20 years ago and still suffer from aspergilloma. Recent problem with water tank has revealed a lot of dirt in water... Plumber cannot help with antifungal prevention.

No idea Im afraid - I think you need to talk to a commercial water treatment company.

it's a thought but i guess it would be rather expensive. Tanks are small and now serve only one dwelling. thanks for reading!

My colleagues did a very recent review on the contamination of our water supply with Aspergillus (file://nask.man.ac.uk/home$/Downloads/microorganisms-07-00007.pdf). They have found that it is rare but present in mains water and presumably also present in tank water. Whether that has any impact on your health is not known, but I think you are right to be concerned given that you have aspergillosis.

In the UK the following applies and your water company or local council is required to ensure your supply is clean, and that includes fungi. dwi.defra.gov.uk/consumers/...
