Advice on controlling FND tremors from UCL

See link youtube.com/watch?v=QJAArCY...

I would be interested to know if the person with the tremors (an actor?) is typical of most FND sufferers...the tremors seem relatively mild, with no speed variability, and as far as we can tell not triggered by any stimulus.

The video is part of a series see ..uclh.nhs.uk/neuropsychiatry

The Brain and Spine Charity in Liverpool, has a neuro gym, with FTF services available to all and an advice line regarding exercise for neuro conditions 0151 298 2999 .. and the response is not via AI.

Thanks for sharing, watched the video which I thought had some real useful strategies, some I knew and others I didn't. The thigh ones would have been real helpful for thigh spasms (one of my sons original symptoms).

Noticed it was the last of five, so will make a mental note to watch the others.

Thanks for noting that, I have updated the reference. I think the videos are good in that they show us what decent neuro PT looks like ..it certainly was not what I got. Some consulting rooms don't even provide chairs which allow you to rest your back at the same time as having your feet on the floor ..so it is more comfortable standing. It is then annoying to see the able bodied therapist in the only adjustable chair!

Have you watched them all? We had PT appt yesterday, one off GP referral re back pain and she noticed what was causing the tight muscle, going over on ankle etc just by looking at alignment and doing weight bearing exercises. He left appt (prob 40 mins allocated) with a list of exercises and feeling optimistic. He usually feels like we are wasting GPs time.

Ps. I can see how that would be annoying too, perhaps voice it next time it happens again, they probably weren't even aware.

That's a good step forward then. It is interesting that the UCL videos are done by an OT ..the one I saw was not interested in the physical, only in 'talk therapy'. Any physio always has a discrete eye on patient posture......maybe not the same for OT's ..who seem to come with various sub specialities . I hope my Gp will refer me to somewhere for the physical at the forthcoming appt. Fingers crossed.
