Hi Everyone 👋, I hope that your day is going well. "The struggle is real" I am slowly beginning to understand my diagnosis but I had a quick question. I just had my apt with my physiotherapist. She studied FND in school. She can help with the MH manifesting into but cant treat physical symptoms.I need a team of doctors for treatment. Do you know what doctors i need on my team. The distonia is get painful. Just one example: My entire back is seizing up. For twenty to thirty seconds before releasing. I still cannot walk more than fifty feet.

Team of Doctors?
hello I’m sure what doctors you have in hand but I know my neurologist prescribed me medication to deal with my pains for my FND have you been prescribed anything or just sent to physio? Also I was told to see a psychotherapist see there more trained with cognitive issues and there are some that have certifications in neuroscience . So I have family doctor, neurologist, psychotherapist and I have a message therapist to help ease my tension I get . Soon I’ll have a physiotherapist I had to wait a bit to get my jerks and speech under somewhat controlled especially since It heightens my issues when I interact/focus on me
Hi ButterflyInTheWind,
I'd ask your physio since she is likely to know of other doctors in your area who are up to speed with FND and who may have a specific understanding of the symptoms you have currently. While it's always good to get mental health support for any condition it is reasonable to think that if the physical symptoms are adequately treated then the mental health issues will reduce or go away completely so I really hope she can help you find and access effective treatments soon.
Hi I would think a physiotherapist in FMD and an Occupational therapist would be the best people.
I would make sure that your physio is up to speed with 'physio4fmd' ..you can down a physio booklet if you google that ...'normal' physio , from what I have read does not help.
