Hi there, I am very happy to have found this community. I was just diagnosed with functional neurological disorder about 4 weeks ago. After a 10-year-long search for a diagnosis of what was going on with me, I have very severe symptoms which have me stuck at home 99% of the time and I am looking for people to connect with who can offer support and help me learn about this disorder. I have a lot of support to offer in return ❤️

I do hope you gain understanding here. You have been on a long journey, sorry to hear that. I started 2107, but maybe before that, certain things I didn't link to FND may have been. I suffered depression with schizophrenia tendency for a few years before I took control of my life again. I have other health issues plus I'm carer for my husband. One day at a time. It must be difficult at such a young age to struggle with your health. We are a friendly bunch, loads of experience and links to info, I find technical information bit difficult to understand . Understanding your next step is the key to still enjoying life. Take care. Moni
Hi Meg
Welcome to our Community, anything you want to know, ask away.
What sort of FND symptoms do you experience that has a knock on effect on your other condition? Maybe, the key is to managing that.
Hugs xx
hi welcome feel free to message me anytime ,, 10 years is along time and finally you get an answer and probably it you have FND and there a website and no help , king regards simon
If you haven't been there already, I would certainly go to Jon Stone's site, neurosymptoms.org. He is the Scottish (maybe even international )guru of FND,. In the USA I would look up David Perez research, and the REACT clinic in LA ..where if you have the funds, you could get treatment..there are a lot of outreach centres. Ten years is a long time with no answers,,, did they eventually diagnose on the basis of the 'rule in' signs? If you think physio is what you need, look up physio4fmd ..a programme devised for FND patients by a London hospital ..there is even a workbook, you could download and take to your own physio. Plenty of DIY has to be done with FND. ..best foot forward! Have a fruitful journey.
