Hi everyone! My name is Johanna Lind and I am looking for people from the age of 18+ to participate in my doctoral research project. This is for people who have a diagnosis of Functional Neurological Disorder.

The purpose of the study is to understand some of the factors impacting on an individual’s quality of life, in order to think about ways to improve services and support available. If you decide to take part, you would be asked to complete an online survey that will take around 20-30 minutes. This will ask you about such things as your early childhood experiences, your experience of social stigma, your feeling of self-compassion, and your quality of life currently. You will also be asked some brief demographic questions (e.g. age, gender, occupation). Please be aware that some of the questions will ask about negative experiences in childhood, and may therefore bring up uncomfortable feelings for you. The survey introduction and debrief will give details of support organisations you could contact should this be the case.

For more information, you are welcome to contact me on s1534479@sms.ed.ac.uk.

If you would like to take part, you can access the study from the link below:
