Has anybody checked your B12 levels or Folate ? If not insist they are checked ask for a copy of the results and stick them on the Pernicious Anemia Society. I had similar symptoms which are much improved now I am on B12 injections.

What they say is normal isn't always the case so if you have any of your results pop them on.

Take care

Foggy head and depression - gone

Cognitive impairment and balance - much improved

I feel your pain. I collapsed at home 20 years ago and was taken to hospital they told my husband I’d had a stroke and possibly had ms but then decided I didn’t it was a hemiplegic migraine .. I did suffer with migraines it took me months to get to some kind of ‘better’ then about 6-7 years ago it happened again hospital again paralysis non verbal this time a dr decided I had FND great I thought I thought I’d get help .. there is nothing I saw a lovely dr at St. George’s London a neuropsychologist basically stress causes me to shut down emotional trauma … I didn’t really feel stressed but was… or trauma but obviously we all have things that can trigger it .. basically you have to live a life and except it .. I’m having episodes all the time at the moment different words come out of my mouth I can’t walk some days I have to take time of work then today work are sending me to occupational health to see if I can do my job !! Help out there no .. I applied for pip on a walking stick couldn’t hardly speak didn’t score 1 point … the thing is this label FND gets no help my drs ask me what can they do they have done all blood tests nothing comes back … referral to mental health .. I was told bust and boom that helps on the days you feel better pace yourself instead of going mad catching up on the things you can’t do .. take it easy it’s hard but just get though the bad times and don’t over do it … the vitamin b12 injections I have been asking for them they say I don’t need them but I’m going to peruse it …. That’s my story your not alone x

Hi Stephen - people can get the symptoms you describe without neurodegeneration or any sign of brain damage. They are relatively common amongst people with migraine, including 'silent' migraine (IE where there isn't much or any pain, which can make it hard to diagnose) and also amongst people with vestibular/neurovestibular conditions (which can also be hard to diagnose). I hope you get the answers you need.

Yes, all of that and more. Last week I started taking protriptyline and it’s been a game changer for me. It’s helped immensely with GI pain and nausea and has helped brain fog and gives me a little more energy as well. If only it helped with weakness and tremors.

Yes me I feel I am going insane at times my memory is horrendous along with concentration , I have issues keeping up with or taking in information. At times I forget what I'm doing just for a very slight second its scary. Tremor, gait issues and cognitive thinking/memory are my main worries along with random pain.
