Flare up managed

My FND had mellowed out some a few months ago, but then I returned to work and it flared up and still hasn’t settled back down.

Has anyone else had flare ups? Did they last a long time? Any suggestions for managing them. I have tics and twitching, drop attacks, exhaustion, and non epileptic seizures.

Thank you!

I’m due back to work on Sunday and I’m dreading it as I work 12 hour shifts and when I finish I’m exhausted and in pain. I’m yet to find anything that helps the flare ups as well so I hope work goes well for you and you don’t have any flare ups.

Stress can make this worse. Maybe you can talk to your boss about having extra breaks or something. Maybe you can ask your doctor to change your work restrictions to accommodate for more breaks or a shorter shift. If you were able to have breaks, maybe you could work in breathing exercises or reading or something to relax your body. Not sure if any of this will help, but good luck.

I have flare ups. They used to last a couple of months. This last fare up has lasted over a year and has had more and worse symptoms than ever. Only in the last couple of weeks have I noticed a little improvement (I stated taking LDN, so that may be why).

Hi Wesley, I can relate to this post with my last "flareup" more severe and without an end. What is LDN if I may ask?

Hi there,

I am so sorry that your FND has flarred up again since you were back to work, but i think its stress related, so hate to say it but think your work is the cause. I had to retire in the end as just was not able to hold a job down because of it, i hope you can find a medium perhaps, much luvxx
