... although the neuro who diagnosed me with migraine said, emphatically, 'it's not 'functional' in any sense other than that it has an impact on how you function' ... is there also an overlap between FND and other types of neuro diversity?
Here's something I found interesting re migraine and neuro diversity:
I'm really interested in this area as I have recently been diagnosed as autistic and in my recent neuropsychology assessment the psychologist said she was not surprised to hear of my recent ASD diagnosis as she sees such a large number of women with FND who have had a late diagnosis or are on a waiting list for one, that she feels there should be a study being done into a link.
FND is very complex and seems to be caused by very different things for different people and I am not suggesting that everyone who has it is neurodiverse. But for me I can see that there is a definite link between my masking or surpressing sensory overload, social anxiety and communication difficulties and my FND symptoms escalating.
I'm not sure if this helps with your question but I am also interested in if there is any overlap.
