Hi, has anyone had a blood test done inorder to rule out other conditions before given the FND diagnosis?

Yes of course. I had a huge batch of blood work done to rule out lots of other things. Plus MRI and nerve conduction tests. FND is usually diagnosed when all other tests are coming back normal.

Hi yes, I had Thyroid, Myasthenia Gravis and Autoimmune Disease Antibody blood tests and standard everything else they could think of blood tests, MRI's, Nerve Conduction Tests and 3 yrs of seeing a Neurologist - who really did not want me to be her problem!

With some genetic diseases they can do DNA blood tests to rule in or out various Neurological affecting ones, but they need to ask and pay for the specific Gene they want to find - so needle in a haystack kind of situation! And so far, FND is not classed as genetic.

Yep auto immune, D-dimer, thyroid, lumber puncture, MRI, doplar scan on main arteries, vitamin B12+D deficiency, EMG and NCS tests, various heart assessments. Felt like a lab rat at one stage 😱😳
