Coping during Stress....

I hate it when when something happens/ someone causes me stress and my brain/ body just reacts so stupidly and there's nothing you can do, so I try to distract myself to distract my brain, but I'm a mother with young children and physically so hard to focus or cope while you feel very naucous, severe migraine, uncoordinated, and painful muscle spasms and numbness around the mouth ,tongue and face, and body feels like gravity is pulling you down, how do people cope with raising children when going through this?

Hello Robyn,

I am right there with you. Malfunctioning is something I have gotten very good at lately. Mine looks a little different from you but in the same neighborhood..... I keep earphones on so that if I do some weird movement it just looks like a white girl with no rhythym. If someone notices I just throw out a note or two.... the more off key the better I have found.

I shove my hands in my pockets or death grip my belt loop--pant leg, whatever I can grab to reduce how much flaying my arms do when I get stressed.

I laugh when I want to cry. I laugh often. I laugh loudly!

On a brighter note I have found that I can use this situation to my advantage at times. In a crowd ( I try to avoid) ...I can whack somebody's leg with my stick and then apologize profusely as I'm shaking. Works every time.

My granddaughter visits often & tells me that I have the hiccups. This is how a four-year-old sees me. I can't imagine the stress of having all the babies home all the time. I hope that you're able to get some relief... some time to just unwind and breathe a little bit.

I don't know how old your little ones are, but they are growing up seeing that there are challenges in life. They're seeing that their mom loves them. They are seeing that Mom has down days but she keeps going. What a wonderful lesson to teach your babies, perseverance.

Don't short change what you are doing. Redefine your success. I guarantee that you are doing way more than you recognize, so you should celebrate your awesomeness. Hugs your babies and enjoy your night.

Wow I have those same symptoms and more. How do I cope? I don’t, but I have no other choice but to live with it and no one in my family truly understands the suffering I go through. But yes distract distract distract. Find things that will help you distract and meditation helps too. I’m currently slurring my words and feel that heavy gravity thing and numbness on face tongue. My mouth just doesn’t want to function now. I hate it but not much I can really do except to distract distract distract
