Lishman Unit

Hi all I was diagnosed with FND 3 years ago. I have been on a waiting list to go into the Lishman Unit at Maudsley Hospital. I was wondering if anybody has done there programme there as I am getting closer to being admitted and would love to get more of an insight into what I will be going through.

I recently have been talking to my neurologist and she has mentioned the Lishman Unit at Maudsley Hospital did you go and do you mind sharing how you got on please? Thanks xx

Hi Claire

Is that an inpatient unit? I saw a neurologist at the Maudsley, who has referred me to the

FiND programme at the Bethlem hospital. It is an outpatient programme using neuro-physio and CBT therapy. You go for 2 consecutive days a week, for 3 weeks. I have my assessment there next month.

My symptoms started with a 12 hour fit when I ended up in hospital for 4 days and they did nothing. 12 months later I saw a neurologist who diagnosed FND and ME. Now also being tested for sleep apnoea, Autism and ADHD.
