Because Demis Hassabis delivers...

Google has introduced an AI co-scientist to assist biomedical researchers by generating hypotheses, identifying knowledge gaps, and accelerating discoveries. Using multiple AI agents, the system mimics the scientific method by analyzing vast datasets and proposing new insights. Early tests with Stanford University and Imperial College London have shown promising results, such as identifying novel gene transfer mechanisms and suggesting potential treatments for liver fibrosis.

This AI marks a leap forward in biomedical research, enhancing human expertise rather than replacing it. As AI becomes a key player in research, the future of science may be shaped by a collaboration between human intelligence and artificial innovation.

And no a moment to soon as research funding is being labotomized. AI will have to take up the loss of researchers and their government funding.

I love change but not this haphazardly.

So maybe with AI these very knowledgeable researchers can start out on their own and who knows what will come of it. I bet on human ingenuity and drive for knowledge.
