Oxidant…or antioxidant? Interesting paper: oral pro oxidant kills prostate cancer cells in VIVO

of course prostate cancer is not our only enemy, so I would not ban antioxidants at all, but one week per month of this supplement….menadione, but at the moment it is not considered safe for humans

“When mice with prostate cancer are given menadione, it messes with the cancer's survival processes. Trotman's team has discovered that menadione kills prostate cancer cells by depleting a lipid called PI(3)P, which works like an ID tag. Without it, the cells stop recycling incoming materials and eventually explode.”

Max - In response to this post, I got an email message several days back from our old "restricted" HU friend Patrick. In it he referenced a post he did some 8 years back on Vitamin K. As was (still is) his nature back when he was allowed to post and reply (even on this "unmoderated" moderated forum), the commentary of his post is very thorough and includes linked research related to Vitamin K3 aka menadione. You (and others) can check it out here:

BTW, here is what Wiki has to say about Menadione

Stay Well - ciao, cujoe

PS I did a cursory online check and it seems Menadione/Vit K3 is available for your pets and livestock, but not for us human critters.

yes I know, there is no recommended dose for humans because it is considered toxic 🤷‍♂️

That's a known fact and we all agree about that Cujoe, but do I want to be the tester that discovers the poisoning dosage? What do they mean by dangerous? Fever or death? Is it acute poisoning or slow and invisible till it's too late? Audentes fortuna juvat...but to which extent??? 😀😀

I read the press release 2 days ago myself and decided against posting because some fool would search for K3 and start taking it ending up with liver disease or worse. Mouse studies are great for determining if and how compounds affect cellular activity. But too many extrapolate to effect in humans. Just plain dumb and dangerous.
