On Happiness: What is it Really? And how to Live a Happy Life

I subscribe to a podcast on longevity, lifespan and healthspan by Peter Attia MD. He covers related topics from science and medicine informed viewpoints. He over simplifies at times, but can be forgiven as he is not yet 50 and does not fully understand how the challenges are amplified after turning 70. He does have some very good guests that he interviews.

I am posting a link to his interview with Arthur Brooks, whose specialty is the determinants of "Happiness", living a truly happy life. What does it actually take and what science is there? Even though this does not specifically address dealing with life-limiting cancer, it is certainly central to the whole consideration of ones Quality of Life. And this interview is really very very good.

Here is a link to the YouTube of the entire interview. Otherwise it is behind a subscriber paywall on the peterattiamd website. Please take the time to listen and consider the ideas discussed. I suggested it for my wife and she has now listened to it 3 times in a week! She never does that.

Paul, I'm trying to keep up . . . and do agree that Peter Attia's podcasts are first-class - and very informative, regardless of topic. Much better to sit down with a 2+ hr conversation from which one might learn something that could improve/save your life than to spend a similar amount of time with most any of the stuff that passes for entertainment these days.

So, I will put it in my cue for the next available time slot. I currently have the pleasure of a visit by jdm3 and his birding co-pilot, so no slots will be available until they take to the airways on Thursday. That your wife has uncharacteristically listened to it 3 x in a week sounds like a darn fine endorsement.

More later, Ciao - K9
