Here is a link to an excellent, concise summary of Pfizer's Phase III data for their COVID-19 vaccine. At the end it also provides links to the complete FDA and Pfizer documents for those who want more detail:
Thank you cujoe. An interesting update and informative links.
I might have missed this in the info but in some of the news about the data I seem to recall those with anaphylaxis should avoid having the Pfizer vaccine. Although it's not expected to be approved here until March... I guess if that's the case...those with severe allergies shouldn't have it... that means Miss B&W can't have it. Maybe one of the other vaccines will be OK for that group. By the time the Pfizer is approved here, I suppose there will be a lot more data about side effects.
Regardless... a wonderful day that it is now available in the US to those most at risk. A light in a very dark tunnel.
Seems the HK has recommended against, so like me with my CLL-compromised immune function, there is justifiable reason to be cautious. I recently met with my CLL onco specialist (actually her NP this time), but it was just prior to the FDA approval and Pfizer data release, so no clear advice was offered. I will reach out to my cancer center for guidance before I rush out to get any of the vaccines. The standard line for immunocompromised patients is that, like most other vaccines, it will likely be less-effective than it is in the general population.
Time will tell for sure.
Stay Well and Enjoy your winter holiday in summer.
One of my concerns I raised previously is interactions with treatments and cancers, and I have not seen data on PCa and the mRNA vaccines...I am hoping that at some point, we shall see some info. Who knows?? It may be like the Dukoral vaccine epidemiological study and show benefit... Besides, I will not be at the top of the list now anyway, so no use worrying...
