Hello!
I was diagnosed with PV 5 years ago and I’ve not seen PV specialist yet. I know I should have. I live in Walnut Creek, CA. Does anyone know PV specialist near me or in SF Bay Area?
Thank you!

You can find MPN Specialists on these two lists.
Hi. Usually you look for a MPN specialist. I’ve never seen them specific to just one type of MPN so don’t be puzzled if they don’t specify just one. You’re wise to try & have a MPN specialist. Good luck. Katie
It’s a very wise move to see an MPN specialist. Doing so will very likely make a difference in your treatment and disease progression over time. I used to live in the Sacramento area and went to Stanford very soon after my diagnosis in 2007. I figured I was in the best hands, but it turns out I wasn’t seeing an MPN specialist there. I was busy with life and work and didn’t even know there was such a thing. My doctor there, who specialized in leukemia, didn’t talk to me about interferon treatment — over the course of 16 years! I moved to another city and immediately saw an MPN specialist. I learned later that Stanford does have a few MPN specialists, so that’s definitely one option.
I just conferred with Dr. Patricia Cornett at UCSF, MPN specialist. Very easy to talk with and spent an hour with me via Zoom. I would recommend her, older, wiser and has a team of other specialists that all work together for difficult cases Important to have a team.
