I’m afraid so, it is a common symptom from a condition called Erythromelalgia. It may not progress for you so don’t be too afraid. Have a look at my last post as this is what it’s about…so we can both learn together 😊.
Have you found a haematologist with MPN awareness yet. Are you on aspirin also and are you aware of PEGylated interferon?
Hi, I'm 44 with PV, diagnosed a year and a half ago. I take rivaroxaban daily and Pegasus Interferon injections. Yes I have had this, which happened seemingly out of the blue about 6 months ago. I had painful burning feet and fingers, which stopped me doing household chores and exercise. I think my blood levels were not being tracked closely enough. But in the end I saw my MPN specialist (not just my local rheumatologist consultant) who prescribed a low dose baby aspirin daily, which worked within hours of taking it! The burning stopped, but after a month I had extreme menstrual bleeding, possibly because of taking two blood thinners. So I stopped the aspirin and the burning has not returned.I hope you can see an MPN specialist and have your blood levels checked.
I really hope you feel better and it doesn't last long. It's disconcerting and can be debilitating, not to mention painful!
Good luck
I meant to add my doctor called it Erythromelalgia.
