Thinking of given up work,is it very hard to claim a disability benefit once you have been told you have fibro.

I've only recently been diagnosed with Fibro although it seems I have been a sufferer for a long time, just didn't have the right Dr to confirm it! I also have multiple other illnesses and have tried to claim for Disabilty but it seems because I can get myself out of bed, can get myself into the shower and walk more than 50 metres un-aided I don't fit the criteria! My Dr has deemed me unfit to work and I have had to leave my job. But I'm now at a loss as to what I am entitled to. I am waiting for a form for ESA to come. Anybody with any advise would be grateful

hi ive had the diagnosis for 2 years carnt get out of bed some days, very very depressed and im still fighting for both ESA & DLA . my doctor signs my Fit note for 3 months at a time which i have to send to job centre for my ESA money have other medical issues 2 but both asesments doctors say im fit for work!!!! my Appeals are due to be heard next month so fingers crossed because its been very difficult trying to survive on 67.50 a week!!!!. ive lost count of the money my boyfriend has put into my bank account :((. You have to be carefull when you go for ur doctors assesment for ur ESA, on my report it even said "she sat still and wasnt rocking in her chair and looked clean and tidy" so hard and very draining fighting just for an extra 20 pound a week!!!! Get in touch with ur local welfare rights they should help you complete the forms, there is help out there but we have to find out these things ourselfs no1 will offer this kind of advice to us!!. good luck xx
