Re diagnosis

Doctor as put me on Naproxen as my bloods were clear for polymyalgia however although the naproxen is masking the pain I can steel feel underline issues with my neck shoulders and hips more than a little worried for when I'm back at work I could be doing more harm ? I'm a 60yr old painter and decorator so my job is quite physical , any advice appreciated

Have they made sure yo're on something like Omeprazole before you take the Naproxen? My friends stomach/bowel was damaged because she didn't take the Protein Pump Inhibitors before the Naproxen.I have to take Naproxen with my migraine meds, it never has any effect at all on my fibromyalgia pain, its not something I'd be happy taking everyday even if I could.

Hi , Yes he gave me omeprazole just feels strange as the underline problem is still there just feel wrapped in a blanket with the Naproxen, I've a month's supply but can't take these long term it's frustrating but there it is

You say your get to be diagnosed with fibro. If it is fibro then it will not be causing more physical damage. But best to rule other things out.

Many of us, including myself, don't take anything for our Fibromyalgia, not because we're against meds but just because they don't work. It's common for for fibro not to respond to meds particularly typical pain meds. The only thing that helps me is exercise but others find a combination of meds can work often including an antidepressants with pain killers etc.
