Hi after having an IBS diagnosis for a few years just had a new diagnosis from consultant Microscopic Colitis. I had my PIP assessment prior to this, can I ring them and change the diagnosis?

Hiya oscarsgran,

I have to update any changes to my health on the next PIP assessment form I get. I assume it would be the same for you so make notes of any changes and the dates it developed. Is this your first assessment form you have filled in? As I have a great tip for filling them in easier.

🤗😊

contact our benefits team on benefit.advice@fmauk.org and they can give you some advice and send you a guide if appropriate

as already mentioned I would update on the next application form. They are not focussed on the conditions you have but your ability to do certain things. A different diagnosis does not change this but if your condition / symptoms have improved then that is the time to get in touch.
