Do the dwp take into consideration the pip form or is it mainly the feedback from the assessment

My assessment was contradictory to my pip assessment and so I appealed. It’s now gone to tribunal and am waiting results ... just say how your condition affects your day to day life ... good luck 😉

PIP is a different benefit and assessment than your ESA assessment which uses a different criteria for assessments. My PIP assessment report gave me low rate on both awards but the same evidence I sent to DWP for ESA lead to a paper based decision as the medical evidence supped my diagnosis.

It should be both

Hi they ask you questions based on what you have told them on the form so yes they do take it into account. Plus any supporting evidence.. good luck x

They take into account the form you filled in and any medical evidence you provided. They do not contact your GP. They will ask you similar questions at the face to face and are looking for inconsistencies in your answers. They may ask the same question in different ways. If your answers differ, you will get zero or lower points. They will look at the way you walk, whether there is eye contact, how you are dressed, and reach conclusions about your ability to look after yourself and your mental state, just from that. It is up to you to tell them everything, albeit that being articulate is taken as a sign of not being anxious or depressed. The whole process is seriously flawed. If you do not get an award, go for Mandatory Reconsideration and then Appeal. Over 3 out of every 4 appeals are won by claimants.

They take everything into account in order to wriggle out of awarding you what you deserve. Then in desperation they ignore their own descriptors so you end up at a tribunal, win & get all the £ owed to you back.

If this is a money saving exercise then its not fit for purpose.

Yes you are right 70% plus win at a tribunal hearing more so when you attend yourself. And the judges can see you and ask questions regarding the descriptors you are contesting.
