It depends how long and under what guise one would be going to US. But basically no you cannot double claim.also highly unlikely US would pay any kind of benefit if one is uk national on short term stay and usually one needs to be self funding and financially independent for long stay in US.

I lived in France for several years and the answer is no.

Once you leave the UK to live there ( not just have a holiday) benefits would stop unless it has been permanently awarded, like a pension. I get a widows pension because of when my husband died and my age at the time so that stayed in place.

Benefit systems vary hugely from country to country and you'd have to research your specific country. For most, once you've been in the country for 6 months you're counted as resident so have to re register your car, register for taxes etc... Getting into the health system in France isn't simple -- it's doable but not easy.
