coccydynia
Sounds very painful but I can imagine anything at the bottom of the spine would be hope you get some relief. I don't have it but your could try on the home page see if there is any information there or look on our other site FMAUK.org
That's a good idea thank-you
Hi Tinkerjack I have had coccydenia for years now. It really impacts on my life in a big way. There are treatments available, I have had steroid and anaesthesia injected into cocycx and that helped for a while. When it wore off and I was back at orthopaedic consultant he suggested manipulation of cocycx under anaesthetic at same time as a second injection. This time it didn't work so well and I am due back at orthopaedics in a week or two. Not sure what next step is. Apparently some people have the injection and that sorts them out for good. Have you tried anything yet ?
Hi Tinkerjack1912
I am so gneuinely sorry to read this, and I was diagnosed with coccydynia about 3 years ago after an MRI. They said my coccyx had deteriorated and was prone to swellings. I did not get on with the heat pads, I had oral steroids as I refused the injections (too painful in the area. I was also given Nefopam (this helps a little) and Cocodamol which helps on occasion. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken x
I've had this for 2years after a fall. No X-ray , no treatment , nothing according to GP You can do about it. It makes sitting uncomfortable and some exercises at the gym but is not painful otherwise. I may suggest an injection, is this cortisone?
